Assalamualaikum!

Continued, part2
おばあちゃんは私にこのように言いました。
「最近は日本人も体の露出が増えてるわよね。私ぐらいの年の人はあなたの格好のほうが好きなの。あなたのように体を隠すことの大切さを持ちながら、素敵にしている人がいて嬉しいわ。」
The elderly woman told me:
“These days, more and more Japanese people are exposing their skin. People who are same age as me prefer your style. I’m so glad to know that there are girls who enjoy fashion but also understand the importance of covering, like you.”
確かに昔、日本人女性が着物を着ていた時代に比べたら、現在の日本人女性の服装は露出度が高い服装になっています。
どちらにも「美」はありますが、「美の質」は違います。
私たちムスリムは隠す目的は異なるにしても、昔の日本人女性同様に「女性が美しさを隠すことで生まれる美」を楽しんでいるのです。
「隠す美」は老若男女問わず、素敵だと思われる姿なのだと改めて気づかされました。
Indeed, compared to the time when Japanese women wore Kimono everyday, current Japanese women’s style is a revealing style.
There is “beauty” in both styles, but “the quality of beauty” is different.
Although the purposes of covering are different, we are enjoying “the beauty of covering the beauty of women” like Japanese women in the old days.

私のインスタグラムをずっと見てくださっている方は
この日の話を当時私がシェアしたことを覚えていらっしゃるかもしれませんね。
It was deeply impressive for me, so people who have been following my Instagram for a long time might remember this event at that time.
私が出会ったおばあちゃんのように、「モデスト(控えめな)ファッション」が人に与える印象を知った出来事は他にもあります。
