改宗ムスリムの人生（8）

アッサラームアレイクム！

Assalamualaikum!

私がまだイスラームとは何かを知る前に、ムスリムの考え方に感銘を受けた出来事があります。 Before I got to know about Islam, I was really touched by Muslim’s way of thinking. 

私がまだ大学生の時、ムスリムの友達2人と私で遊びにいきました。

私は当時、イスラームについて勉強したことがなかったので彼らが何を食べれて何が食べれないのかもよくわかりませんでした。

そのため、彼らに食べれるものを選んでもらい、楽しいランチの時間を過ごしました。

お会計の時になり、友達が私にランチを奢ると言いました。

When I was a university student, I hung out with 2 Muslim friends.

Since I hadn’t studied Islam, I didn’t know what they could eat or not well.

So, I asked them to choose what they were able to eat and we enjoyed lunch.

When we wanted to pay the bill, my friends told me that they would pay for my lunch.

私は先輩後輩の関係で奢る・奢らないということがあることは日本の文化の中で経験していましたが、友達同士の関係の中で奢るということはそれまで経験したことがありませんでした。

不思議に思い、「どうしてそう言ったの？」と友達に尋ねました。

I had experienced being treated to a meal in the context of seniors and juniors in Japanese culture.

However, I hadn’t between friends. I was wondering why so asked them. They replied:

「お金は無くなっても増やせるでしょう。 でもありさは1人だから。」

 “ You can increase wealth even once money has gone, can’t you? But there is only one you.”

ランチを奢ってくれただけでもありがたいのに、理由を聞かされてあまりの感動で心が熱くなり、「ありがとう」の一言を返す以外何も言えなくなりました。

そのようなことを友達から言われたのは初めてでした。

Even though I was so happy they treated me to lunch, I was deeply moved by the reason and I couldn’t say anything expect “Thank you.”

It was first time such a thing had been said by my friends.

私は今まで後輩に何かを奢る時に、いい先輩と思われたいとかを期待して、行動していたかも知れないと思いました。

そもそも友達に奢ることを考えたこともありませんでしたが、私は仮に友達に奢った時、彼らと同じ損得のない純粋な気持ちでその行動をできるのだろうかと思いました。

I thought I might have had treated my juniors while expecting that they thought I was a good senior.

Although I hadn’t thought of treated my friends, if I would have done it, I thought that I surely could have done it with a pure heart like them.

この時、ムスリムの心の美しさを知り、それを支えているイスラームの教えに惹かれました。

At this time, I got to know the Muslim’s beautiful heart and I was attracted by the teachings Islam.

預言者ムハンマドﷺはイスラーム とはなにかと尋ねられた時、このようにおっしゃっています。

「人に食べ物を与えることと美しい言葉で話すことである。」

スブハーナッラー。

私たちの心にいつもイスラームがありますように。アーミーン。

The Prophet ﷺ said when he was asked what Islam was:

Feeding food and beautiful speech.

SubhanAllah.

May Allah always remain our Istiqamah to have Islam in our hearts.

Āmīn.
